The Club Penguin virtual world has just enjoyed its second month of record traffic.

The Make Your Mark: Ultimate Jam event became the second most trafficked of the year, and followed on from the enormous success of the Marvel Super Hero Takeover - which saw 40 million play sessions across 200 countries.

Ultimate Jam saw 35 million play sessions during the event. It transformed the site into a big music and dance party, marking the first time players had the chance to interact in world with characters CeCe and Rocky from Disney show, Shake It Up.

During the event, players redeemed nearly eight million dance and music-themed items, making it one of the most in-demand in Club Penguin history.

"If Club Penguin continues to break records like we have this summer, the iceberg might actually tip due to all the new penguins," said Lane Merrifield, co-founder of Club Penguin and EVP of Disney Interactive Worlds.

In addition, Club Penguin - along with Walt Disney Records - released its first single during Ultimate Jam. The Party Starts Now by DJ Cadence became the top song in the iTunes Children's Music category in a number of countries, including the US.

The music video has notched up more than a million viewes since it was initially previewed on Club Penguin's YouTube channel.
