A second series of animated pre-school TV show Ella Bella Bingo has been commissioned.
Media firm August Media Holdings has reached an agreement with Norway's Kool Produktion to produce the new series.
August Media Holding's new distribution arm August Rights will handle international sales for series one and two, while Kool Produktion will be responsible for Scandinavian rights.
Holding's subsidiary Red Kite Animation will oversee production of the new series in Singapore and Edinburgh, which is set to begin in October, and will launch in winter 2013.
The 2D flash animated series targets three to five year olds, and has been commissioned by Ms Gitte Calmeyer for Norwegian broadcaster NRK.
Ella Bella Bingo follows Bella and the playful kids and eccentric adults in her life.
Ken Anderson, exec director and chief creative officer of August Media Holdings, said: “We are pleased to be working on this delightfully charming show and look forward to producing and representing Ella Bella Bingo to the world. It is a pleasure to be working with our Norwegian friends at Kool Produktion and NRK.”
Frank Mosvold, CEO of Kool Produktion, added: “During Mipcom last year, I attended the Finance in the Far East lecture and Jyotirmoy Saha was one of the speakers. I was intrigued by the possibilities of international co-productions, and now less than a year later I am very excited to be working with such respected executives as Jyotirmoy Saha and Ken Anderson, along with their teams at August Media and Red Kite. We look forward to taking Ella Bella Bingo to the next level with our new friends.”
