HIT Entertainment has greenlit a second season and 60-minute special for its all-new CG animated Bob the Builder series.
The second series will see 52 11-minute episodes due for delivery in 2016 and the special to follow in 2017.
Bob the Builder is also set to embark on new digital adventures with the launch of 43 x two-minute short-form videos. These will launch on YouTube in August.
"We are excited about the greenlight of a second series of Bob the Builder and particularly thrilled about bringing additional content to the many platforms on which children and families are currently engaging with entertainment," said Christopher Keenan, VP global content and executive producer at HIT Entertainment.
"We had a tremendous reception when we announced commencement of the first series and expect that the news of this additional content will evoke an equally enthusiastic response from our global distribution partners, parents and kids alike."
The new episodes and shorts will be produced at HIT's Uk headquarters, with animation services provided by Canadian-based digital animation company, Mainframe.
The voice cast includes Lee Ingleby who voices Bob, plus Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey) as the voice of Wendy and Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) who voices Scoop.
The first series will hit screens later this year on Channel 5's Milkshake in the UK, PBS Kids (US) and from early 2016 on Super RTL (Germany) and Televisa (Mexico).
