Sesame Workshop has launched a new app for iPhone and iPod Touch featuring Elmo.

Elmo Calls enables children to receive video calls, audio calls and voicemail from the character, while they can also call him. Parents have their own section where they can activate calls any time they want or schedule them for certain times.

There are eight different themed call packs to choose from.

In addition to the new app, Sesame Street has also updated the Elmo Loves ABCs app for iPad.

The app includes customisation features which allows users to add their own photos and videos to the game, plus a tracker for parents to see how their child is doing. The app also features an all new content pack, with new game objects, video and colouring pages for each letter.

The update also includes seasonal content, including holiday themed art for the Hide-n-Seek game, as well as themed game objects.
