The Sharpe Company has added classic video games property Worms to its portfolio.
Worldwide licensing agency for the brand, AT New Media has appointed the firm to represent Worms across North America on behalf of owner Team 17.
"Worms offers excellent licensing opportunities because it is considered a true legend of video gaming brands," said Charlie Day, president of Sharpe. "It has especially strong appeal to the boys' seven to 12 market because of the cheeky humour, crazy characters, weapons and destruction that are integral to the games."
Key features of the Worm series include the ability to customise the worms with hats, hair, hands and glasses, plus weapons such as exploding sheep, banana bombs and the Concrete Donkey.
Since 1995, Worms has been released on over 20 gaming platforms, selling approximately 30 million retail copies to date.
