Shaun The Sheep will be brought to the big screen again as Aardman Animations and StudioCanal produce the hero's very own film.
StudioCanal is financing the feature and will distribute the film in the UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
Written and directed by Richard Starzak and Mark Burton, the film will be shot in Aardman's trademark stop motion animation.
Shaun was first seen in the Oscar-winning feature A Close Shave and has since then found success in over 170 countries across the globe.
The big-screen adaptation will see Shaun the Sheep and his farmyard friends take to the city for a story of adventure.
StudioCanal chairman and CEO, Olivier Courson, said: "We are so thrilled to join the flock. Shaun is a character you love at first sight whatever your age.
"We are really happy to work with Aardman, it's such a talented team."
David Sproxton, executive chairman and co-founder of Aardman, added: "Shaun and his friends have a massive global following and we are very excited about being able to put them into a bigger adventure for the big screen.
"We are naturally also very excited about partnering with StudioCanal for this project, their track record and expertise in international film financing and distribution seems a perfect fit."
Aardman Rights will manage the worldwide merchandise and live events rights of the movie and TV series, and will continue to manage global TV, DVD and digital sales for the current and new TV series in development.
