A Portsmouth entrepreneur has picked up the official London 2012 Olympic Games board games licence.

She Who Dares UK owner Rachel Lowe MBE gained the licence for her Destination London 2012 board game, which allows players to travel across the city and collect tickets along the way. There’s also a Junior version available for kids.

The firm is just the second to acquire the rights to produce an official Olympics board game in the UK; the other being Winning Moves.

Lowe set up She Who Dares UK after developing the Destination series of board games at university, while working part-time as a taxi driver.

She first produced the Destination Hogwarts game, based on Harry Potter. That sold out earlier this year – and more stock is due this month.

“It’s brilliant and exciting,’ she told Portsmouth.co.uk.

“It’s just me and Winning Moves, which makes Monopoly, which have been given licences to make Olympics games.

“Being involved in something like that is fantastic.”
