Simon’s Cat is one of only eight UK-based YouTube channels to surpass one million subscribers.

The channel also has more than 270,000,000 views.

Simon Tofield, creator of Simon’s Cat, said: “I’m really happy that Simon’s Cat continues to entertain so many people. And I’m extremely grateful for the massive support the fans have given me and the team since we started on YouTube.”

United Agents appointed Zodiak Rights to build the Simon’s Cat licensing programme in 2010.

Licensed product set to launch this autumn/winter include pet accessories and products from Sharples N Grant, mobile hardcases and skins from Offshore International and t-shirts from Bravado. Further clothing and online personalised greetings cards will launch early next year.

Jennifer Lawlor, SVP consumer products, Zodiak Rights, said: “Simon’s Cat achieving this incredible benchmark on YouTube demonstrates the passion and affection so many people have for our favourite feline. We’re thrilled to work with the Simon’s Cat team and a great group of licensees to develop fantastic new products as we continue to expand the licensing programme in line with the ever growing awareness for the property.”
