Simpsons tops for Kinnerton

Branded advent calendar is best selling character brand in 2008 for company.

Longstanding 20th Century Fox licensee, Kinnerton Confectionery, has said that The Simpsons was its best selling character brand on advent calendars for 2008.

In addition to this, The Simpsons was the number one character brand in the whole marketplace for 2008 (Source: A C Nielsen).

Kinnerton has been a Fox licensee for over ten years, and The Simpsons has outperformed all other character brands in its portfolio for the last three years.

"The Simpsons is a unique property for us," said Rachel Wyatt, marketing director at Kinnerton. "There is nothing else on the market which appeals so well to both children and adults alike - it hits a large number of consumer purchase triggers.

"It has been a consistently strong performer over the years and the other key factors contributing to this include our dedication to product development, the unrivalled on-air presence of the TV show and the fantastic support we receive from Fox Licensing."

Kinnerton is now the number one manufacturer of character advent calendars, and also the only manufacturer to grow market share in this category in 2008.
