Slugterra begins global roll out this autumn

Nerd Corps property to launch on Disney XD; raft of consumer products to follow.

Nerd Corps Entertainment will roll out its new kids property, Slugterra, this autumn.

Disney XD is the global TV partner for the show - it has already premiered in Canada and is due to launch in the US on October 15th. Disney will then introduce the show around the world throughout 2013.

Nerds Corps is continuing to lock down agents in key territories, as well as terrestrial broadcast. Full episodes will also be showcased at Mip Junior in Cannes in October.

A dedicated Slugterra website, plus an online flash adventure game and iPhone and iPad apps based on the series are planned.

A toy line from Jakks Pacific will hit shelves in early spring 2013, while several key licensees are in place for consumer product launches in 2013 and beyond.

"Slugterra is full of all the awesome things that boys in this age group [six to 11] love: blasters, power-ups, transformation, dueling, hanging with friends and exploring a real, secret world," said Asaph Fipke, series creator at Nerds Corp.
