Smart deal for Start Licensing

Agency teams up with Virgin Books for quiz book as it looks to extend Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year Old? beyond TV screens.

Start Licensing has appointed Virgin Books as the publisher of the paperback quiz book for Sky One's popular show Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year-Old?

The book - which was turned around in just six weeks by Virgin from signing to being published - is aimed at the whole family and is priced at £5.99.

It joins a branded board game from Hasbro in the licensed product line-up.

"A quiz book was the most natural product development to support this TV show and we are confident that Virgin Books will produce a product that will be a big hit this Christmas with the whole family," offered Ian Downes, director of Start Licensing.

"We are planning further product launches in the future that will extend this property beyond the TV screens and assist in making Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year-Old? an even bigger hit."

KT Forster, MD of Virgin Books, added: "The perfect family stocking filler, with a foreword from Noel Edmonds and over 450 questions on subjects from geography to astronomy, this entertaining quiz book will allow readers of all ages to test their knowledge and prove once and for all whether they really are smarter than a ten year-old."
