The firm was founded in 1986 as a commercial apparel supplier. Three years ago, the firm was bought out by Brands Holdings.
The first licence Smith & Brooks signed was MTV in 1995 and the licensed sector now forms the major part of its business.
The portfolio of brands ranges from evergreen kids brands like Thomas and Friends, The Simpsons, Dora the Explorer, through nostalgic brands including Ghostbusters, and Nintendo, right through to upcoming properties like Zingzillas.
With such a huge range of brands under its wing, it's probably difficult to pinpoint the most successful property, but over the decade from 1995 - 2005, Barbie was the most succesful brand in the stable.
Despite difficult trading conditions, the last year has been strong for Smith & Brook and the firm is looking to continue this success over the next year.
The portfolio of licences is continually evolving. The firm has recently agreed deals on Zingzillas, Noddy, Angelina Ballerina, Playstation games, Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet.
Smith & Brooks is currently in the process of finalising deals of a number of new properties in the pre-school and teen market, which includes Glee fashion tees later this year.
