The Smithsonian - the world's largest museum and research complex - is teaming up with Regent Seven Seas Cruises to launch a special series of guest lectures.
The Smithsonian Collection by Smithsonian Journeys will feature a wide range of charismatic experts, from noted art historians to prominent authors and geopolitical experts, leading discussuons both onboard the ships and ashore.
Kicking off in July, it will be available on a majority of sailings, with more than 80 voyages scheduled across the fleet for the 2015/2016 season, and featured in itineraries throughout the world including South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
Guests will be able to attend the talks and also participate in Q&A sessions. There will also be select shore excursions escorted by a lecturer.
"This partnership gives our guests access to some of the most authoritative thought-leaders in the world, providing deeper insights into the history, art, culture and politics of the destinations visited by our ships," said Jason Montague, president and COO for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Carol LeBlanc, SVP for Smithsonian Enterprises, added: "The experts chosen to sail on Regent Seven Seas Cruises will be leaders in their field and possess the expertise and affability to create a truly memorable experience for guests."
