Sony celebrates global licensing activity for Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

Fashion, apparel, trading cards and more reach across globe in a raft of licensing deals.

As the latest teen fantasy series The Mortal Instruments, prepares for cinematic release with City of Bones, Sony Pictures Consumer Products is seeing licensing activity stretch across the globe.

From the US to Hong Kong, product is now available in categories such as fashion apparel, accessories, publishing, costumes and more.

The film follows the adventures of teenager, Clary Fray as she battles to protect the world from demons, vampires and other deadly creatures. The film hits cinemas on Wednesday, August 21st.

Recent signings in the US include Bioworld Merchandising for apparel, bags and accessories and fashion jewellery; Tripp NYC and Jewelry on 7th for fashion apparel and fine jewellery; Underground Toys, Toner Doll Company, Leaf Trading Cards and PlayFirst for mobile gaming, novelty items, tattoos, trading cards and collector fashion dolls with accessories.

Running Press Book Publishers has signed for a series of mini kits, while Simon and Schuster, Inc has produced a range of film tie in books. Trends International delivers calendars, writing instruments and bookmarks and Rubie's offers a collection of costumes and dress up.

Meanwhile, international licensees for the film based on the New York times bestselling novel by Cassandra Clare, includes apparel, books, accessories, homeware and novelty items from Sunset, Walker Books, Pyramid, My Flash Trash and Gear for Games.

Official perfumes and fragrances arrive courtesy of Laurelle London, stationery from Hatber, art work from Mantiburi, bedware from Happy Toys, books from Ripol, tarot cards from MM Media and apparel from Hybris.
