Space Enterprises picks up Sooty

Firm appointed licensing agent as new show set to debut in September.

With a new series due to launch on CITV from September, Space Enterprises has been appointed as the licensing agent for Sooty and Sweep.

The new show has been commissioned by ITV and will premiere on weekdays on the CITV digital channel from September. It will then air on ITV Breakfast on weekend mornings from the beginning of 2012.

The series will follow the adventures of Sooty, Sweep and Soo as they join their companion Richard when he takes on the role as handyman at a coastal holiday park.

Space will be looking to build on the property's strong popularity to build a wide ranging licensing programme.

"Sooty and Sweep is the latest incarnation of a truly classic brand and this new show is sure to be a big hit," said Steve O'Pray, MD of Space Enterprises. "Children discovering the characters for the first time will be enthralled, while grandparents and parents remember them from their own childhood, which makes for huge potential from a licensing perspective."
