The creator of a popular virtual world for children wants to help bring other brands to the sector.
Games studio Bubble Gum Interactive has developed Space Heroes Universe which has more than 1.5 million players from over 100 countries.
Following various enquiries from brands and IP owners, it has licensed out its technology to make virtual worlds based on third-party characters, stories and brands.
Bubble Gum's own game engines and technologies will soon be available "for limited release" to select third party brands and IP owners.
Features include multiple realms of play through two distinct game engines, rich 2.5D graphics, social sharing, automatic in-game menu chat translation in 15 languages and integrated quests, parties and events and mini-games.
The virtual world framework includes administrative tools for rapid design, deployment and ongoing maintenance, including customer account management and PCI compliant billing frameworks that can accept payments via game cards, credit cards and other payment methods.
“We’re passionate about story-driven, fun, family-friendly gaming experiences” said Phil Mason, CEO, Bubble Gum Interactive.
“And we’ve had numerous conversations with brands who have followed our success with Space Heroes Universe, asking if we can share our expertise and licence the platform.
"The number of enquiries has gotten to the point that we thought we’d make it official and open the opportunities up to a select number of brands. We’re hoping to have a dedicated licensing and support program up and running by April."
