Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products Spain has partnered for the first time with the Real Madrid Foundation, King Juan Carlos University and La Fundacion Once, in a project to help foster sport and social integration.

Earlier this month, Spongebob Squarepants donned his gym kit and joined Spain's kids in the Marathon for Social Integration, sponsored by the Real Madrid Foundation and co-sponsored by the capital's King Juan Carlos University and one of the country's best known charities, La Fundacion Once.

More than 1,000 handicapped children took part in the race around the city's Santiago Bernabeu stadium, each wearing bright yellow Spongebob Squarepants t-shirts.

In addition, there were various Nickelodeon branded activities along the way including face painting and the chance to have their picture taken with Spongebob.
