Spearmark hams it up with new Pig line

Firm to produce lunch bags and plastic drinks bottles for latest Artlist Collection property.

4Kids Entertainment International has kicked off The Pig licensing drive, signing up Spearmark Homewares for a range of lunch bags and plastic drink bottles for the photography franchise from Artlist.

Spearmark has already produced items for The Dog, and will now aim to launch the two Pig branded products in time for the back to school season in January 2009.

"Following the successful launch of The Dog lunchware range in 2006, Spearmark Housewares is delighted to have secured the licence for The Pig," said Alex Bloom, licensing director at the firm. "With its extremely eye-catching and adorable imagery, we are confident that this new franchise will be a massive hit at retail."

Stephen Gould, co-managing director at 4Kids, added: "Given that Spearmark is well-known for its high quality children's lunchware products which consumers have seen with The Dog, they're the perfect partner to produce The Pig lunch bags and drink bottles."

Additional licence agreements for The Pig are expected to be revealed shortly.
