Lunchware manufacturer Spearmark is launching a new initiative, with the aim of giving parents and carers guidance on how to make children's packed lunches healthy and fun.

In July, Spearmark will launch the What's For Lunch website - this is aiming to be a fun and informative resource for those seeking inspiration as to what they might include in their children's lunch boxes.

The site will include the option of becoming a member of the What's For Lunch? club, which provides packed lunch menus, recipes, competitions and an activity zone.

There will also be a printable reward chart to monitor children's healthy food intake through the week and a 'create your own shopping list' facility to enable children to pick the healthy foods they'd like to eat.

The website will be promoted via a swing tag on all Spearmark's lunchbags and boxes, as well as via a targeted consumer press campaign.

"We launched a What's For Lunch? booklet in 2006 and continue to get enquiries for schools and other organisations who are using it as a teaching aid," said Alex Bloom, licensing director at Spearmark. "The new website takes this initiative to another level, allowing the information to be constantly refreshed, keeping parents and their children hungry for more."
