Microsoft has teamed up with Steven Spielberg to bring video game IP Halo to TV.

The platform holder announced a live-action Halo TV series is currently being made between game developer 343 Industries and the famous film director.

"I've been playing games for decades," Spielberg said. "The stories have become more compelling as the technology has improved.

"I'm incredibly excited about the journey Halo will take us on."

The announcement was made by 343's Bonnie Ross who pointed to the popular Halo 4 webseries Forward Unto Dawn. This was a prequel to last year's game Halo 4 as proof that Halo can work as a TV show.
