SpongeBob SquarePants is set to open on Broadway this year, with an official opening set for Monday, December 4th.

The cast features Ethan Slater as SpongeBob SquarePants, Gavin Lee as Squidward, Lilli Cooper as Sandy Cheeks and Danny Skinner as Patrick, with the full cast to be announced later this year.

The anticipated show will open at The Palace Theatre, while preview performances will begin Monday, November 6th.

“We could not be more thrilled to bring Nickelodeon’s iconic SpongeBob SquarePants to the theater in an original musical conceived specifically for Broadway,” said Cyma Zarghami, president of the Nickelodeon Group.

“We are also incredibly honoured to be in such a gorgeous house as The Palace, where audiences will be immersed in the fun and surprising world of Bikini Bottom.”

Fans of the brand will be able to purchase tickets from June 26th, with prices ranging from $39 to $159.

James L. Nederlander, president of The Nederlander Organisation, added: “We are very happy to welcome Nickelodeon and SpongeBob SquarePants to Broadway. The Palace is the perfect size and scale for this new musical, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to open our doors to it.”
