Clothing commerce platform Spreadshirt has inked a deal with Ford Europe's licensing agent, Leap Group Holdings, which will see it offer a range of apparel with designs showcasing the iconic logo and classic cars.
The Ford logo apparently has 90 per cent brand awareness globally, and the new collection will look to encapsulate the history of the brand through photographs and images that have been archived over the past 100 years.
"We chose Spreadshirt because of their reputation and the partners they already work with," said Ben Pope, UK sales manager at Leap Holdings. "We were looking for a bulk-order distributor, but Spreadshirt's offering is much more effective for licence holders.
"We have been able to set up an online shop for Ford's clothing, with print on demand technology and payments and returns managed by Spreadshirt. The platform means we can offer fans access to a huge database of designs as time goes on, with no upfront costs for anyone."
Philip Rookie, Spreadshirt CEO, added: "We are pleased to be working with Leap Holdings on this exciting clothing deal for Ford. Licensors are increasingly realising that they can take the opportunities which new merchandising techniques, combined with clever marketing strategies can offer."
