Square Licensing makes US move

Firm hires new VP of licensing and merchandising as it opens doors of Redmond operation.

Square Licensing is expanding into the US.

The company has appointed Kyoko Yoshida as VP of licensing and merchandising to head up its US operation, with the office based in Redmond, Washington.

Yoshida was formerly brand manager at Nintendo of America where she was responsible for licensed promotions, product development, brand strategy and partnerships for Pokémon, Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda among others.

Armelle Madelin, director of Square Licensing, said: "We are delighted to have recruited a highly experienced licensing executive of Kyoko's calibre, and we look forward to both acquiring new brands and to developing our existing portfolio in the US."
