Star-studded premiere for new Thomas film release

Day of the Diesels gets 'blue carpet' debut at Vue in Leicester Square ahead of wider roll out.

The latest tentpole film release featuring Thomas the Tank Engine debuted yesterday, with a star-studded 'blue carpet' premiere at the Vue cinema in London's Leicester Square.

Day of the Diesels will roll out to 68 Vue cinemas across the country, ahead of its launch on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday September 26th.

Among the famous names at the big screen debut were Sally Bercow (pictured), Stacey Solomon, Louise Mensch MP, John Simpson, Kate Ford, Natasha Kaplinsky, Laila Rouass, Radio 1 DJs Edith Bowman, Zane Lowe and Nihal, Michael Brandon, Vanessa Perroncel and Amanda Lamb.

Channel 5's Emma Crosby and Jason Bradbury also attended the event, along with the grown up children of Thomas creator The Reverend W Awdry.
