Hit Entertainment has appointed Sunshine Events as its official live events partner in the Middle East and North Africa.
As part of the deal, Sunshine has acquired the rights to Barney and Little Big Club ticketed shows in the region, as well as production and development rights for a host of live event experiences for all other Hit brands. These include Thomas and Friends, Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina, Fireman Sam and Pingu.
A new Barney production, ‘Let’s Go’, is in development and will tour from this autumn. Other Hit properties will feature in mini-shows and meet-and-greets this summer. All shows will be available in Arabic and English.
Barney and other Hit brands have sold over $1 million worth of DVDs at retail in the Middle East during the past year.
David King, group director of live events and attractions at Hit Entertainment, said: “We’re delighted to start our relationship with Sunshine Events by signing it as the official live events partner for the Hit portfolio in the MENA region.
“This new partnership will enable us to ensure all events in these territories comply with a level of quality and consistency that is befitting to these market-leading brands.
"Sunshine cares deeply about producing high quality, innovative children’s entertainment and we’re confident this partnership will satisfy the huge demand for our brands within the territory, as well as ensuring that consumers get to enjoy top quality, official Hit shows.”
Sunshine Events director Stuart Every added: “Our team is very excited about developing new and wonderful shows to bring to families across Arabia. Live events are a wonderful experience for both children and their families.”
Hit Entertainment is a division of Mattel’s Fisher-Price brand.
