Turner CN Enterprises has confirmed plans to grow its adult brand licensing business, developing ideas to extend its portfolio of channel brands.

Earmarked for development first is CNN, with TCNE seeking a select roster of partners with the aim to translate the key characteristics into commercially viable licensed products. A product concept guide has been created which focuses on travel and business products for the first phase of the campaign. Conversations have begun with a number of potential partners including travel guide publishers and luggage and travel accessories manufacturers.

"The CNN brand enjoys fantastic global recognition driven by a comprehensive broadcast platform and a strong online presence," explained Alan Fenwick, VP of Turner CN Enterprises. "We look forward to developing the CNN licensing programme and building relationships with licensees with the vision to create product that celebrates the values of this unique property."

Mark Haviland, marketing director at CNN International EMEA, added: "This is an exciting first step in translating the CNN values into relevant products that speak to our international credentials and get us in front of new audiences. At the same time, it marks the beginning of a new revenue stream for a brand that is always looking for innovative new business models."
