Technicolor has re-partnered with Mercury Filmworks to unveil its latest 2D animated pre-school series, Chamelia, making its debut at Cartoon Forum and MIP Jr this year.

The new series is based on the collection of books from author Ethan Long, winner of the 2013 Theodor Seuss Geisel Award.

Chamelia follows the adventures of a young chameleon, who rather than camouflaging, opts to stand out from the crowd.

Technicolor's vice president of animation, Steven Wendland, said: "Our collaboration with Mercury Filmworks on the development and production of Atomic Puppet was such a rewarding partnership, we were eager to work with them on Chamelia.

"Both companies share a commitment to developing distinct properties that capture the imagination, push the creative envelope, and engage audiences. Chamelia is a property that delivers on all fronts."

Mercury Filmworks president, Clint Eland, added: "Technicolour is a brilliant partner with great creative instincts.

"They are a global company with diverse expertise that complements our own. We couldn't be happier about re-teaming with them to develop Chamelia. Add the talents of John Lomas-Bullivant, and I think we have a wonderful recipe for success."

John Lomas-Bullivant is currently spearheading the overall development of Chamelia, having developed properties such as Bob the Builder for Hit Entertainment and The Cramp Twins for TV Loonland.
