Tesco launches WWE promotion

Tesco and CPLG kick off brand support with an in-store and online campaign.

For seven weeks, 93 Tesco stores will feature WWE branded cross-category pallets displaying a range of WWE product including toys, video games, DVDs, apparel, homeware and publishing.

The in-store display will be supported online with a cross-category WWE jump page that will remain live throughout the autumn/winter season.

Customers shopping online will also get the chance to enter a competition to win tickets to the sold out Survivor Series Tour with the opportunity to meet a WWE superstar.

As a final part of the promotion, the WWE superstars are due to visit the Tesco Extra stores local to the Live Event locations throughout this month, giving fans the chance to meet them.

Ross Walker, director of international consumer products at WWE said: “The forthcoming in-store event consolidates WWE’s UK commitment to aligning closely with the two foremost cross-category retailers.

“By continuing to use live event tours and PPV related assets to build profile, scale up visibility and bring customers back to other parts of WWE’s core business, the company will continue to stimulate impressive growth in its UK-based licensing programme.”

Alex Allan, CPLG’s retail manager, said: “This has been a fantastic opportunity to implement a cross-category initiative for a brand as strong as WWE in one of the UK’s biggest retailers at a key time of year, supporting our licensee base through maximising retail sales.”
