TV-Loonland has tied with DH Konzept Vertriebs-und Marketing for a new children's textiles line based on its kids' brand Pettson and Findus.

The firm has been looking at new ways to explore the licensing sector and believes this deal is a good fit.

The collection of Pettson and Findus textiles will be produced out of ecologically controlled 'SKAL' accredited cotton and represents a deliberate decision to offer both sustainable and high quality products.

When cultivating SKAL accredited cotton no pesticides, insecticide or fertilizer are used. Weeds and vermin are treated by biological methods.

"The cotton is handpicked and no defoliants are used," said Dirk Hüsgen, MD of DH Konzept. "Thus, the ecological balance within the growing area in Turkey is not negatively affected, as ground, air and water are not polluted with harmful substances."

Bernd Conrad, head of licensing and merchandising at TV-Loonland, added: "Parents choose Pettson and Findus for their little ones, both as a TV series and licensing brand for the values that it represents. We aim to meet this leap of faith by now offering Pettson and Findus textiles that are ecologically proven, so neither nature nor the children's health are affected."
