Platinum Films has appointed TF1 Licences as the French licensing agent for its hit boys property, Matt Hatter Chronicles.
The new deal will see TF1 recruit licensing partners for a product roll out in 2015/16 and execute a cross-platform retail and marketing campaign to activate a 360-degree brand presence in-store, online and on-air with Gulli.
"We are delighted that TF1 Licences has been chosen as the licensing agent for Matt Hatter," said Hubert Taieb, deputy general manager of TF1 Enterprises. "We would like to thank Platinum Films and Pinewood Studios for their trust.
"Thanks to this new partnership, our catalogue continues to grow and our team is very proud to take up new challenges."
Matt Hatter has been acquired by French media giant Lagardére Active for its pay and free to air dedicated children's channels, Canal J and Gulli.
The show premiered on Gulli in April and is being supported by a promotional and marketing campaign including dedicated online content, features in the Gulli TV magazine and field operations including Kids and Summer Tour, Gulli Parc in July.
Smoby France will launch the Matt Hatter toy range in the autumn, including action figures and role play.
Nigel Stone, CEO at Platinum Films, commented: "TF1 Licences has 20 years of experience in the French market and a deep knowledge of what French consumers want and who the key licensees are that will develop the best range of products for the Matt Hatter brand."
