The Dark Knight Rises is box office number one

Batman gets more popular internationally; Ice Age Continental Drift continues to perform.

The Dark Knight Rises made $64.1 million in its second weekend, a 60 per cent drop on its premiere weekend.
The film has now collected $289 million in the US and Canada – around $25 million less than what previous installment The Dark Knight grossed there.

However, Batman picked up the slack internationally, with The Dark Knight Rises grossing $176 million over the weekend, raising its international total to $248.2 million.

Ice Age Contientnal Drift, the fourth installment in the CG-animated kids series, continues to perform and is number two in the worldwide box office, and has collected $514.1 million internationally so far.

Meanwhile, the refreshed The Amazing Spider-Man dropped out of the worldwide top five. The movie has grossed a total $412.7 million worldwide.
