The FA and Panini enter four-year partnership

The Football Association has signed a four year deal with collectables specialist Panini, to bring the England team back to its collection.

The deal marks the first time Panini collections will feature the team in its official England kit since Euro ’96.

Wayne Rooney, Joe Hart, Jack Wilshere and the team will feature on a range of products sold across the globe, with the first collectable series – following the team on their quest to qualify for UEFA Euro 2016 in France – will be distributed globally.

Traditional football stickers and trading cards will form the basis of the partnership, however the Italian collectables firm plans expansion into new product areas including 3D collectables, digital and multi-media. 

With innovation at the centre of the new agreement, the FA and Panini will also create a swap shop in the family enclosure of Wembley Stadium, where fans will be able to complete their collections and check out the latest Panini products.

“We are delighted to have teamed up with Panini,” said Stuart Turner, commercial director of the FA.

“As the FA continues to make significant moves on an international scale, the aligned global plans and expansion is a perfect fit. Working with Panini is a particularly exciting opportunity for the FA.”

Peter Warsop, group licensing director at Panini, added: “Panini is delighted to be back working with the FA.

“Our first endeavours to bring official FA content to fans will be seen shortly in our introductory Adrenalyn XL Trading Card Game called The Road to Euro.

“Panini is also using England Team assets within its official FIFA Women’s World Cup sticker album to be launched in May.”
