The Gadget Show Live will this year feature a trade day, bolstering the already popular consumer event.

And, as the organiser looks to widen the appeal of the tech show, has sealed a deal to become exclusive trade media partner for the licensing sector of the trade day.

The Gadget Show Live Professional will take place on Tuesday April 12th, the day before the five-day consumer exhibition takes place at the NEC. Some 250 companies will take part in the business-focused expo, showcasing the latest products to industry buyers from across the market.

Organisers say that 90,000 consumer visitors will attend The Gadget Show between April 13th and 17th, creating what they say is the biggest technology and consumer electronics in the UK. A number of free seminar sessions will also take place during the show.

Around 4,500 trade visitors and 500 members of press are expected to attend The GSL Professional day.

“We are extremely pleased to be announcing the launch of The GSL Professional,” said event director Matt Hodgins. “Following the incredible success of the consumer event, we are delighted to be able to extend the event to provide anyone with a professional interest in this market with the opportunity to meet with key suppliers in one place and within a business-focused environment. We are very much looking forward to delivering a first-class trade event for 2011 and its continued growth over the coming years.”

"We are very excited to have been chosen as exclusive trade media partner. This underpings our strength in the sector and we wish them well with their efforts to widen out the appeal of their event," said publisher, Stuart Dinsey.
