The Hive enters new territories

Bejuba! Entertainment secures deals which brings the show to Italy, Switzerland, Singapore, New Zealand, Ukraine and Serbia

Pre-school brand The Hive will be airing on a series of new global terrestrial broadcasters, as distribution company Bejuba! Entertainment secures deals with Rai Yo Yo in Italy, TSR in Switzerland, Medicorp in Singapore, TVNZ in New Zealand, Trevano Pictures in Ukraine, and Prava in Serbia.

The Hive has already proved a hit on Disney Junior in the UK, the US and in over 150 countries, and Cinedigm DVDs are launching in major stores across the US this Christmas and early next year. 

The show highlights themes such as the importance of family and friends, working together to solve problems, being part of a diverse community and caring for the environment. 

"Seeing the terrestrial broadcasters jump on board is testament to the enduring charm and shelf life this series has,” said Sandrine Pechels de Saint Sardos, vice president sales at Bejuba!

“The characters in the Hive are so entertaining, the scenes are so colourful, and Bridget Hurst’s scripts are outstanding.”

 This is the latest in a string of agreements for The Hive and in the last few months Space Enterprises has brought on board Ravensburger for jigsaws and puzzles, Igloo Books for publishing, Studio Anne Carlton for fridge magnets and Lifeplan for The Hive-branded honey.

Other existing UK partners include Mookie for Master Toy and plush, Avanquest for interactive, EMI Publishing, Blues Clothing, Jupiter Toys, and Aykroyds TDP, whilst LeapFrog features The Hive content on its best-selling LeapPad children’s learning tablet and the Leapster games console

“Bejuba! is doing a great job in getting series one in front of a global audience, and we’re really excited about opening up a broadcast and licensing programme in these new territories” says director of licensing Mark Hurry.

"They join at a time when The Hive is bigger than ever – the level of interest we are handling is massive and reflects the fact that the market is crying out for a major new pre-school brand.”
