Disney has now acquired cable and satellite rights to The Hive in all territories except Australia and Israel. The show will launch on Disney Junior US in October.
Tatiana Kober, president of The Hive distributor Bejuba Entertainment, said: “The Disney US deal once again spotlights the series’ charm and appeal for young children. We’re delighted that American kids will soon be sharing their lives with Buzzbee, his family and his friends. The global success of the show has been instrumental in securing the US and we’re thrilled.”
“We are very excited to be launching on Disney Junior in the US,” said Camilla Deakin, series producer of The Hive.
“We’ve worked hard to make the show compelling viewing for children, and it is clearly paying off when we see the fantastic ratings it is getting around the world. I’m delighted and proud that we can now say it has a truly global audience.”
Agent Space Enterprises has reported that toys, plush, and apps for both the LeapPad and iPad are soon to be released.
