The Jim Henson Company is embracing international growth with role expansions and a new appointment in the firm’s international consumer products division.
Executive vice president of global distribution and international consumer products, Richard Goldsmith will now also be responsible for the distribution of Henson’s international consumer products.
Goldsmith joined The Jim Henson Company in September 2011 and has been instrumental in guiding the growth of the firm’s worldwide distribution efforts across all media.
The expansion of Goldsmith’s responsibilities is indicative of the company’s attempts to create more cohesion among its global partners.
Goldsmith will be supported in his role by new appointment and former Walt Disney Company executive, Francesca Stobbe, who joins the team in the role of executive director of international consumer products.
“Empowering Richard to forge stronger relationships between our media partners and our licensing partner will yield the level of collaboration that is so crucial in today’s marketplace,” said Peter Schube, president and COO of The Jim Henson Company.
“In the three years that Richard has been directing our global distribution efforts, he has demonstrated a keen ability to develop and grow our partner relationships as well as enhance our brand positioning.”
Goldsmith added: “We have a lot of momentum heading in to BLE with five Henson preschool series on air in numerous territories across the globe, and two additional third party properties we represent under our HIP banner also currently in multiple territories.
“With all of our current brand activities in the region, and the addition of Francesca to the team to manage our international efforts, the time is right for us to have presence at BLE to meet with and update licensees and retailers.”
