The Roald Dahl Story Company secures first US licensing partners

The products, featuring Roald Dahl’s globally best-selling stories, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach and The BFG, in combination with Sir Quentin Blake’s iconic illustrations, will begin hitting US and Canadian shelves this autumn.

The Roald Dahl Story Company and Brand Activation Consulting have unveiled the first nine licensees to lead the launch of licensed products in the US.

The products, featuring Roald Dahl’s globally best-selling stories, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach and The BFG, in combination with Sir Quentin Blake’s iconic illustrations, will begin hitting US and Canadian shelves this autumn.

New partners include Out of Print for newborn through to adult apparel, accessories and gifting, Litographs for apparel, accessories and posters, Storiarts for book scarves, accessories and newborn blankets and caps and Culturenik for prints and gifting.

They are joined by Winning Moves for a Top Trumps card game, Fiesta Crafts for hand and finger puppets, Riley Blake for fabric and fabric kits, Storybook Cosmetics for a beauty collaboration and Rococo Chocolates for confectionery.

Stephanie Griggs, licensing and design director, the Roald Dahl Story Company, said: “As one of the top storytellers of all time, Roald Dahl’s stories have already seen decades of success in North America in publishing, school and library programmes, feature films and live shows.

“We’re really excited to be able to bring book-led licensed products to market via a group of great partners and with the help of BAC.”
