The Wiggles are launching a dedicated virtual world, with the aim being to further grow awareness of the Australian kids' supergroup.
WiggleTime.com is designed to be a virtual world that provide pre-school children with a safe online environment to play and learn, while also offering an educational resource centre for parents to monitor their child's development.
Unlike other virtual worlds, the site will not offer children the ability to interact or communicate with other logged on members. It will also be free of any advertising within the children's section.
Each game played on WiggleTime.com contains cognitive, physical and social elements to help educate. The majority of the games have been designed to be played in stages that progressively get more challenging as children learn. Each time a child completes a game they are rewarded with virtual toys.
In addition to games, the site will also include a series of video clips on a month to month basis; offline activities that encourage children to apply their learning in the real world.
Registration for WiggleTime offers both free and subscription based options.
"One of the hallmarks of WiggleTime is that we have adopted the very strong position of keeping the content within the children's side of the site entertaining, educational and advertisement free," said Mike Conway, MD of The Wiggles Pty.
