Thomas & Friends continues to hold on to its position as the UK's number one pre-school toy property.
New NPD figures show that this is the 11th year Thomas has held the spot. The data is based on EPOS data for toy sales gathered from major retailers across the country.
"2010 was an exceptional year for Thomas at retail and today's results cement the brand's position as the continued number one choice for pre-schoolers," said Rick Glankler, SVP, global brand management, Thomas Division, EMEA, at Hit.
As well as strong toy sales, Thomas & Friends' move to CG animation resulted in an increased TV viewership and share on Five's Milkshake, alongside a 20 per cent rise in annual home entertainment sales.
Thomas & Friends also holds the number one position in markets including the US, Germany, Australia, Korea and Japan.
