THQ grabs game show brands

Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune join firm's casual video games line-up.

THQ and Sony Pictures Consumer Products have revealed two multi-year licensing agreements to develop games based on Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

The firm has been granted the rights to publish interactive games for the Nintendo Wii, DS and DSi platforms. THQ also has rights for additional platforms.

"We are excited to add two iconic properties such as Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune to our kids, family and casual games portfolio," said Doug Clemmer, executive VP of the division. "The opportunity to implement new features such as Wii Speak will re-imagine how these games are played and engage fans with a whole new level of interactivity."

Mark Caplan, VP of licensing at SPCP, added: "Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune are extraordinarily popular across the globe and it was important for us to find a partner with an international vision."
