An exclusive selection of artwork from Classic Thunderbirds is to take pride of place in a new exhibition in London's Selfridges.
British Icons and Heroes will be held in the Big British Shop in Selfridges' Concept Store. It will officially launch on May 4th and run until late August, and has been organised by specialiost art retailer, Art You Grew Up With.
An exclusive showing of never before seen interpretive artwork of Thunderbirds will include British artists such as Paul Oz, Okse and Des Taylor. Visitors will be able to see and buy pen and ink, airbrush and oil paintings, prints and iPad art, while there will also be special live painting and sketching events on selected Saturdays during the four-month run.
"We're delighted to have the chance to work with ITV Studios Global Entertainment on presenting and promoting this special event," said Russell Singler, owner of Art You Grew Up With. "It's a great chance for fans to see some marvellous interpretations of the iconic Thunderbirds characters. But it's also a great opportunity for fine artists - and not just as a stage for their enormous talent. After all, they, like me, are fans too."
Christina Lima, brand manager at ITV, added: "The affection of both artists and the public for the Classic Thunderbirds name and associations is underlined by this show, which is a fitting stage for Gerry Anderson's classic creations.
"Art You Grew Up With has done a marvellous job of putting this exhibition together."
