The 1980s cartoon classic Thundercats is back, with Warner Bros appointing Bandai as global master toy for a new look animated series, plus the classic property.
The new series is currently in production at Warner Bros Animation and will air on Cartoon Network in 2011.
"Thundercats have been a cult pop culture phenomenon for the past 25 years, and Bandai America looks forward to developing modern and engaging toys for these beloved characters," said Masayuki Matsuo, chairman and CEO at Bandai. "Die-hard devotees, as well as a new generation of fans, will be introduced to quality, innovative toys that will capture the adventurous spirit of the brand."
Brad Globe, president of WBCP, added: "Bandai is the ideal master toy licensee for Thundercats. We are thrilled to team up and introduce the Thundercats property to a new generation of fans."
