The product range for the German football league will include trading cards and stickers as well as the rights for digital usage for Internet and mobile services.
Christian Seifert, CEO of DFL Deutsche Fussball Liga commented: “With Topps we are pursuing an already existing partnership and are pleased to have an established partner, who, in the current rights period, has already set a high benchmark in terms of innovation.
"Stickers and trading cards is what make the brand Bundesliga come alive. This is one of the reasons why we set such great value upon a trendsetting approach with a view to new digital possibilities,”
Chris Rodman vice president & Group MD of Topps Europe added:
“The DFL and Topps relationship started in 2009 and as result of launching innovative and exciting new product that captivated the interest of the German consumer, allied to an exceptional brand in the Bundesliga, Topps has grown the category by over 200 per cent and we are therefore thrilled to be extending such a successful relationship for a further four years.
“For many children in Germany collecting images of their heroes whether they be physical or digital is one of their first touch points with the Bundesliga and as such Topps Match Attax cards and stickers have inspired unprecedented passion, excitement and commitment since the launch of our new product range and will, we hope, continue to do so in the future.”
