British actor and TV personality, Brian Blessed, made a special appearance at Toy Fair yesterday to celebrate Five’s commission of the third series and the launch of the new Little Princess Spring/Summer product lines by Martin Yaffe under its Born to Play brand.

Continuing the worldwide success of the first two series, now airing in over 165 countries, and two 22 minute TV specials, the third season will premiere later this year on Five’s Milkshake, introducing a number of new characters and locations in 35 additional episodes. A total of 104 episodes will therefore be airing across the globe from 2010. Fans can look forward to new themes and characters in the new series including the larger than life Great Uncle Walter voiced by Brian Blessed, following his debut in the Christmas TV Special which premiered at the end of 2008 on Five’s Milkshake.

Under the Born to Play brand, Martin Yaffe unveiled a range of items from the spring/summer collection at Toy Fair at ExCeL. They will be in store from February. The range will include four assorted themed Little Princess beanies dressed in different outfits, such as a nurse’s uniform, pirate outfit, rain coat and her usual dress; a set of three beanies featuring Gilbert and Little Princess as well as a Little Princess Greenhouse Play House, based on the greenhouse in the show, plus lunchware and play balls. New plush and pram sets are planned for autumn/winter 2009.

Olivier Dumont, MD of TV-Loonland, commented: "Following the success of the first ever toy range last year and Martin Yaffe’s commitment to creativity and quality, we are confident that the new product range will be another big hit. We also welcome on board Brian Blessed as the perfect new addition to the show, bringing his own big injection of humour and style that is set to resonate with young fans in the UK and across the globe."
