Tree Fu Tom, the popular animated pre-school series, is making its US debut today (Monday, April 22nd) on US pre-school channel Sprout.
The show's premiere at 11am kicks off a week-long 'Dig Into Earth Day' celebration, promoting conservation and care for the environment.
Sprout will mark Earth Week by being part of NBCUniversal's 'Green is Universal' environmental initiative, turning its on-air and online logos green for the entire week.
Tree Fu Tom joins the 24-hour pre-school channel's line up of children's entertainment that includes acquired and original programming.
Although the FremantleMedia Kids and Family Entertainment and CBeebies co-production has been adapted for American audiences, the US version will see British actor David Tennant reprise his role as the voice of Twigs.
Senior vice president of programming for Sprout, Andrew Beecham, said: "Tree Fu tom is a tremendous addition to Sprout's line-up of gold-standard programming.
"Tom and his friends take viewers on exciting adventures in his action packed magical world while encouraging movement and the exploration of nature in a fun and interactive way."
