Tree Fu Tom is to take to the stage next year as Premier Stage Productions signs as the theatrical licensee for the popular children’s property.
The 90 minute live show will run in theatres across the UK in 2015, bringing the popular adventures of the CBeebies hero to life.
The live stage show follows the success of Tree Fu Tom’s Westfield mall live tour in February and the launch of the Tree Fu Tom Training Camp at CBeebies Land in Alton Towers this year.
Pindy O’Brien, FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment VP licensing and retail UK, said: “Premier Stage Productions is a leading light in producing stand-out children’s theatre shows.
“Tree Fu Tom’s interactive elements lend themselves perfectly to a stage show and we can’t wait to work with Premier to combine our expertise and put on a show to dazzle the many fans across the country.”
Nick George of Premier stage Productions believes that the time is right for a brand new licensed show, and that Tree Fu Tom will lend itself perfectly to a live interactive event.
“Premier is delighted to team up with FremantleMedia and the BBC to present the tour,” he said. “We look forward to taking the show the length and breadth of the UK, whereby Tom will become accessible to his many fans.”
Tree Fu Tom currently airs in over 80 territories and in just two years since its launch on CBeebies, has secured almost 30 UK licensees.
