Lawless Entertainment has agreed a deal with Trixter Canada for an animated series based on Suzy's Zoo.

Suzy’s Zoo was created by award- winning artist Suzy Spafford in 1968 and celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2013.

“It thrills me beyond words to tell all the tales about Duckport, and there are so many to share," said Suzy’s Zoo creator Suzy Spafford.

"I look forward to a time of wide exploration and development of these stories with the people at Trixter to make this dream of mine come true."

The animation series consists of 26 half-hour episodes and is targeted to children aged between two to five years.

Each episode will follow the characters of Suzy’s Zoo as they embark on world adventures.

“We’re excited to be working with brand that’s loved by so many and with a wonderful and dedicated group," said Silvio Astarita CEO of Trixter Canada.

"Suzy's Zoo has been entertaining and delighting children for over four decades added Norm Stangl, producer at Trixter Canada.

"The Trixter Team is excited to be a part of continuing and building upon the legacy of Suzy's Zoo"
