Turner Broadcasting has appointed the former MD of Heart FM - Barnaby Dawe - as its new vice president of marketing and communications across all its entertainment brands in the UK.
Dawe will oversee the marketing and communications strategy for all UK entertainment channels - including Cartoon Network, CN Too, Cartoonito, Boomerang, Turner Classic Movies, Adult Swim and Nuts TV.
Before his role at Heart FM, Dawe was director of marketing at Sky where he worked from 2000 to 2005, during which time he was part of the award winning marketing team that beat all new subscriber targets. The successful launches of 24 and Nip/Tuck also came within his tenure.
Previously, Dawe worked in publicity and marketing at Channel 4 and was credited with the successful launch of Sex and the City, the biggest marketing and PR campaign for a TV show of its time.
At Turner, he will report to Dee Forbes, senior VP and general manager of Turner Broadcasting UK and Ireland.
"The UK is Turner's biggest market outside of North America and they have ambitioys plans for growth," said Dawe. "I'm excited about taking on this challenge and integrating the marketing strategy into those growth plans."
