Turner Broadcasting has licensed Egmont Magazines to publish the first official magazine title for hit boys action property Ben 10.

The publication is scheduled to launch in 2009, but before this fans will get a taster with two special All About... Ben 10 issues this year.

The first is due to go on sale on August 27th, with the second following later in the year. The issues will offer readers an insight into the characters and storylines, while providing a range of interactive features and exclusive gift giveaways.

The series will have a target market of six to 11 year-old boys and an initial print run of 80,000.

Additional magazine content will include a Ben 10 comic, a create your own Ben 10 action scene, a World of Ben 10 section, fact files on the show's villains, stickers and giant posters. The magazine will also run competitions where readers can win a games console, copies of the new Ben 10 video game or merchandise.

"The Ben 10 franchise continues to go from strength to strength, recently topping the toy sales charts for two consecutive months," said Graham Saltmarsh, licensing director at Cartoon Network. "With over 50 licensees on board, a Ben 10 magazine seems the natural next step."

Debbie Cook, director of Egmont Magazines, added: "We are very pleased to be announcing both the win of this newly created licence, and the launch of the special All About... Ben 10 issues. We are thrilled to be expanding our successful licensed portfolio to a target audience who absolutely love the Cartoon Network product."
