Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes and TV’s Denise Van Outen joined a host of stars last week for the UK premiere of the revamped kids’ show, Danger Mouse.
Celebrities and their families sat alongside cast members Alexander Armstrong (Danger Mouse), Kevin Eldon (Penfold) and Dave Lamb (The Narrator) for the launch of the new animated comedy at the Ham Yard Hotel in London last Friday.
The highly-classified preview of the opening double-length episode was shown at the event hosted by CBBC controller, Cheryl Taylor and EVP and general manager of FremantleMedia Kids and Family Entertainment, Rick Glankler.
The event was presented by Officially Amazing front man Ben Shires who revealed that Richard Ayoade of The IT Crowd fame, Brian Blessed and Miranda Richardson will be making guest appearances within the show’s voice cast.
The new series of Danger Mouse will premiere on CBBC on Monday, September 28th, marking the 34th anniversary of the original series launch.
Glankler said: “After all these months of hard work it was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout of people wanting to get a sneak preview of this most eagerly-anticipated children’s TV event.
“It’s a big responsibility rebooting such an iconic TV series but the buzz in the room was incredible and the reception for our heroes Danger Mouse and Penfold, both during and after the event, was highly rewarding and encouraging.”
